How to change a foreign passport to a new one?

To do this, you need to collect a complete set of documents, fill out a form - an application for a biometric passport (the application form for a biometric international passport is different from the application form for an old-style passport), pay the state fee and submit the documents to the Federal Migration Service (or other organizations). What documents are needed to obtain a biometric passport?

For citizens of Ukraine who are already 16 years old:

  • application form;

For minors under 16 years of age:

In addition, if a minor under 16 years of age lives with one of the parents, the following must be submitted:

  • a certificate of registration of the child’s place of residence together with one of the parents who submits the application form;

  • a document certifying the authority of the director of the children's institution (contract, etc.);

  • decision of the guardianship and trusteeship authorities to establish guardianship (trusteeship);
  • court decision to establish guardianship (trusteeship);

Start collecting documents by filling out an application for a new generation international passport. Obtain forms from the migration service department or download from the Russian Federal Migration Service website.
