For last year hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian residents received biometric travel documents. No less number of citizens are going to apply for them in the coming months. The reason for the rushed demand for biometric passports was the liberalization of the visa regime with the European Union. In 2017, this even led to delays in the work of the State Migration Service in a number of regions of the country. To eliminate this situation, the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened additional service centers in Kyiv and other large cities. Procedure for document execution

There are at least two ways how citizens can obtain a biometric passport. To do this you need to contact:

to the territorial branch of the Migration Service (SMSU);
to one of the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
to the consular office of Ukraine abroad.

A citizen can sign up to receive a foreign passport not only by visiting a GMSU office in person, but also on its website. If a person does not have access to the Internet, he can use one of the electronic terminals at the nearest branch of the State Medical University. In any case, you won't have to stand in line.

After selecting the required service, the service will prompt you to enter the series and number of your identity card - civil passport. Then a response will appear indicating the degree of readiness of the form.
For citizens located in another country and who have applied for biometric passport at the embassy or consulate of Ukraine, verification will take place on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Each citizen decides for himself how best to check the readiness status of his travel document. If you have access to the Internet, it is more convenient to use the site to check your passport. This allows you to avoid visiting a branch of the State Medical University or a service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Further actions of a citizen who has applied for a biometric passport will occur depending on what stage of readiness is shown on the website page or terminal screen. If the information on the site is incorrect
If information is entered inaccurately when generating an electronic application, a situation may arise when data is entered in the international passport that differs from the identity card. For example, the citizen's last name or first name is incorrectly translated into English or Ukrainian. In such a case, SMSU recommends that you immediately contact us by email indicating the error.
In the letter you must provide your full name, number and series of your civil passport, region, city and date of application, and your contact phone number. The email addresses of each territorial branch of the State Medical University are listed on the official website of this institution.
